Gonzo alive in Aspen ...
Authors: Kathy Daily and Gaylord Guenin
Here is a tale of ghost towns, mines, a failed economy, and people struggling to survive in Aspen between the prospecting of the 1880s and the prosperity of the late 1940s and beyond. The history of the “Quiet Years” is told through recollections of those who lived in that era, historic photos, and the stories and events preceding the Aspen boom.
We seek stories that come from our valley and beyond. We believe that each community is made up of its own stories. These narratives act as a conduit that connects people through a bond of community and commonality. We recognize that stories come to life with time, careful cultivation and some tender, loving care. So let us help publish your story, photographs, or poems. And together, we can make history with minds wide open.
